Amargosa & Death Valley Women Only Tours

For Women Only
Tour Details

This is a curated desert immersion experience tailored for women only.  It is designed for solo travelers, moms and daughters, sisters, close groups of women friends.  It is a gathering of women in a pristine desert landscape.  I, Cynthia, am your guide.  As a solitary desert explorer for over 2 decades, I have firsthand knowledge of how empowering this harsh land can be…. especially for women.  If you open your heart to this challenge, you will come away feeling beautiful, crystal clear, and profoundly connected; to yourself, your loved ones, and the natural world.  There are very special spots in our home region of exploration that are particularly female.  I will bring you there safely and let the desert work its magic.

Cynthia’s Basecamp offers a variety of guest rooms interwoven to be adjoined or to stand alone.  Cynthia will configure your room(s) according to group size and preferences.

What to Expect

Be sure to bring layers of clothing, a headlamp, long pants, closed toe shoes, swim suit, and water bottles (2 liters per person at least).  We provide all gear needed for off-roading.  We have a hybrid tech-free zone: WIFI at basecamp, but no cell phone reception within a 40-mile radius.  Your room is like a standard hotel room…only in the middle of the desert.  Basecamp has a common area with a shared refrigerator.  Bring your favorite snacks, lunch items, and beverages.  Water is drinkable at Cynthia’s Basecamp.  Our region is half the size of Belgium, population 435, so there is little human development, most the remnants from the mining heyday.

Payment, Cancellation and General Policies

We accept credit and debit cards. Payment in full is required to secure your booking. We have a 21-day cancellation policy. For additional information, please visit our Terms of Service page.

Itinerary

Day 1Embracing the Pristine Desert Landscape and Setting Intentions

Cynthia will greet you and get you settled in to your rooms.  Discussion over wine and cheese to set intentions.  We get to know each other to identify the unique flow the safari will take.  Once everyone is ready, we will dine family-style by candlelight.  Campfire to follow where we will finalize our intentions.  Options for a natural hot springs soak.

Day 2Fun Adventures and Challenges – Toasting the Full Moon

Meet in the dining room for a hearty breakfast.  Gear up and depart for the guided off-road adventure.   Lunch on your own with options to dine at one of our local restaurants, have a picnic with your lunch items, or share your snacks in the dining room.  Regroup at basecamp to decide on hot springs soaking, resting, journalling, talking, yoga – together or alone time.  Regroup at the fire pit for a pre-dinner toast to celebrate the full moon as it rises.  Candlelight dinner with dessert at the campfire under the glorious full moon.  By this time, there is a lot to share.

Day 3Hiking to find the Desert Magic

Breakfast served at Basecamp.  Then head out to hike the Amargosa River Canyon.  Cynthia will guide you to her favorite spots of awe and inspiration.  Lunch on your own and personal time.  Meet back in the dinning room for wine and cheese.  Candlelight dinner followed by a once in a lifetime full-moon hike.  Campfire.

Day 4Warm Good-Byes and Inspiration

Rise early for a group hot springs soak.  Breakfast served at basecamp.  This is the time to share the clarity and power we’ve received from the desert.  It never disappoints.
