Amargosa Basin Location

For Film Productions and Photo Shoots Near Death Valley
Overview

Located just 20 miles from the southern entrance of Death Valley, Cynthia’s Basecamp sits within the vast and largely untouched Amargosa Basin—one of California’s most visually expansive and least populated desert regions.

Spanning an area nearly half the size of Belgium with a population of fewer than 500 residents, the basin offers rare access to uninterrupted desert terrain, open horizons, and minimal visual interference. While over 98% of the region is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), select privately held lands—like those accessed through Cynthia—offer some of the most dynamic and production-ready features in the basin.

With over two decades of on-the-ground experience, Cynthia provides informed access, location insight, and logistical coordination across both private and permitted public lands. The region is designated “Semi-Primitive Motorized” under the USDA Recreation Opportunity Spectrum, allowing for a unique balance of remote character and vehicle-supported access—ideal for film crews, photography teams, and creative direction in wide-open desert environments.
