Give your group an experience of a lifetime with the great Mojave Desert as your co-facilitator. The desert is a well-known master at inspiring profound thought and connection, because it feels so safe.
If your goal is to stimulate discussion, motivate, encourage, find solutions, or just have fun together, I promise the desert will exceed your expectations in the most surprising ways. Add some fun challenges with guided off-roading, a full moon hike, or a soak in a natural hot spring under the Milky Way.
Our facility and its amenities are designed to support your experience in the natural world. Hearty home-cooked meals, simple comfortable lodgings, a “hybrid tech-free zone” all help to detach from the day-to-day and focus on your group’s goals.
Cynthia works extensively with group facilitators and group leaders to explore their desired takeaway, pace, interests, activity level, dietary needs and sleeping accommodations. If your group is up for the challenge, the desert will exceed your expectations. This is for groups of 7 or more people. up to 20.
Below is an example of an event we’ve had numerous times in the past. It is 3-nights and 4-days for a group of 7. The price listed above is a per person price for this 7-person event.
3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
12:00 pm
Be sure to bring layers of clothing, a headlamp, long pants, closed toe shoes, and water bottles (2 liters per person at least). We provide all gear needed for off-roading. We have a hybrid tech-free zone: WIFI at basecamp, but no cell phone reception within a 40-mile radius. Your room is like a standard hotel room…only in the middle of the desert. Once the group is confirmed, Cynthia coordinates sleeping arrangements according to group preferences. Basecamp has a common area with a shared refrigerator. Bring snacks and beverages. Water is drinkable at Cynthia’s Basecamp. Our region is half the size of Belgium, population 435, so there is little human development, most are the remnants from the mining heyday.
We accept credit and debit cards. Payment in full is required to secure your booking. We have a 21-day cancellation policy. For additional information, please visit our Terms of Service page.
Greetings and getting everyone settled into Basecamp. Back in your cars to follow Cynthia’s Jeep for a “Walkie Talkie” orientation tour of the local desert you’ll call home for the next 3 days. Dinner served family-style, followed by preferences for a campfire, stargazing, and/or a trip to the hot springs.
A hearty breakfast at Basecamp. Finalize the day’s activities timetable and takeaways. Gear up for your guided off-road adventure into the Wild West of the Gold Rush era. Regroup over lunch at one of our local restaurants or breweries. If your brought your own lunch items, Cynthia will provide plates and cutlery so you can eat at Basecamp. A variety of curated hikes is next in the beautiful and mysterious Amargosa River Canyon. Dinner at Basecamp followed by hot spring soak, dinner, star gazing and possibly a full moon stroll.
After breakfast at Basecamp, you’re off to Death Valley. But not until you are crystal clear on where to go and what exactly to do in this overwhelming behemoth of a National Park. This is the day you will both dinner and lunch on your own. Cynthia can arrange dinner reservations for you in the Park. A picnic is recommended, so bring your favorite lunch items and Cynthia will provide a cooler, plates and cutlery and recommendations for a perfect spot. If you still have some energy left, there are those hot springs again…..
After so much activity in such a profound region, there’s always so much to talk about. Breakfast on this day is time to hear what everyone has to say. My guests never fail to inspire me with their thoughts. I can’t wait to hear yours.
