Host Your Gathering

For family, friend and company groups of 7 to 20
Venue Details

Give your group an experience of a lifetime—with the great Mojave Desert as your co-facilitator. There is something about this landscape that invites people to soften, open, and connect more deeply. In its vastness, people feel both grounded and safe—making it a powerful setting for meaningful conversation, clarity, and shared experience.

Whether your goal is to spark new ideas, strengthen relationships, solve problems, celebrate, or simply enjoy time together, the desert has a way of exceeding expectations—often in the most unexpected and memorable ways. Layer in optional experiences like guided off-road adventures, full moon hikes, or soaking in natural hot springs beneath the Milky Way, and something truly transformative begins to unfold.

Our space is intentionally designed to support your group’s journey. Hearty, home-cooked meals, simple and comfortable accommodations, and a “hybrid tech-free zone” help your group unplug from the noise and reconnect with what matters most—each other.

Cynthia works closely with each group leader, facilitator, or family group to shape a fully customized experience. Together, you’ll define your desired outcomes, pacing, activity level, dietary preferences, and lodging style—ensuring the experience aligns with your group’s purpose.

If your group is open to it, the desert will meet you—and take you further than you expected.

Group size is flexible but the optimum range of 7 to 20 participants.

Have something in mind? Let’s start shaping your experience.

What to Expect

Come prepared to be comfortable in a wild and beautiful place. Bring layers of clothing, long pants, and closed-toe shoes for changing desert conditions. A headlamp is essential, and each participant should have at least 2 liters of water. We provide all necessary gear for guided off-road adventures.

This is a “hybrid tech-free zone.” You’ll have Wi-Fi access at Basecamp, but once you step beyond it, there is no cell service within a 40-mile radius. It’s an intentional shift—an invitation to unplug from the constant noise and drop more fully into your surroundings and your group.

Your accommodations are simple and comfortable—similar to a standard hotel room, just set in the quiet vastness of the desert. Once your group is confirmed, Cynthia will coordinate sleeping arrangements based on your group’s preferences.

Basecamp includes a shared common area with a refrigerator for guest use. Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and beverages. Drinking water is available on-site.

The surrounding region is expansive and largely untouched—half the size of Belgium, with a population of just 435 people. What remains of human presence are scattered traces of the mining era, giving the landscape a sense of history, solitude, and story.

Arrive prepared, and the desert will take care of the rest. Ready to begin planning your gathering?

Sample Itinerary

Day 1Welcome!

Welcome. Settle into Basecamp, take a breath, and arrive.

Once everyone is ready, you’ll hop back into your cars and follow Cynthia’s Jeep on a relaxed “walkie-talkie” orientation tour—getting to know the desert landscape you’ll call home for the next few days.

As the sun lowers, gather back at Basecamp for a hearty, family-style dinner.

The evening unfolds based on your group’s mood and energy—perhaps a campfire under the stars, quiet stargazing, or a soak in the nearby hot springs.

Nothing is rigid. This is simply a rhythm to begin.

Day 2Amargosa Adventures!

Ease into the day with a hearty breakfast at Basecamp.

From there, you’ll align on the day’s rhythm—timing, activities, and what your group hopes to get out of the experience.

Then it’s time to head out. Gear up for a guided off-road adventure through the Wild West landscapes of the Gold Rush era—remote, storied, and full of character.

Midday is flexible: gather over lunch at a local restaurant or brewery, or return to Basecamp if you’ve brought your own provisions (Cynthia will have everything you need for a comfortable setup).

In the afternoon, choose from a variety of curated hikes through the beautiful and mysterious Amargosa River Canyon—each offering a different pace and perspective.

As evening settles in, return to Basecamp for dinner.

From there, let the night unfold—perhaps a soak in the hot springs, stargazing under impossibly dark skies, or, if the timing is right, a quiet walk under the full moon.

Follow the energy of the group. Nothing is fixed.

Day 3Death Valley National Park

After breakfast at Basecamp, you’ll set out for a day in Death Valley—vast, awe-inspiring, and full of possibility.

Before you go, Cynthia will make sure you feel grounded and clear on where to explore and how to shape your day, so the scale of the park feels exciting rather than overwhelming.

This is your most independent day—an opportunity to roam, discover, and experience the landscape at your own pace.

Lunch and dinner are on your own today. A picnic is highly recommended—bring your favorite provisions, and Cynthia will provide a cooler, plates, cutlery, and suggestions for the perfect scenic stop. If you’d prefer a sit-down meal, dinner reservations inside the park can be arranged.

After a full day out, return when you’re ready. And if there’s still a little energy left… the hot springs are always waiting.

Let the day unfold your way.

Day 4Reflections and Departure

Great conversations and warm goodbyes.

After days of shared experience in such a profound landscape, this morning naturally becomes a time to reflect. Over breakfast, there’s space to hear what stayed with each person—insights, stories, unexpected moments.

These conversations are always a highlight. Guests never fail to inspire with their perspectives, and the desert seems to bring out something honest and meaningful in everyone.

I look forward to hearing what it sparked in your group.
